CAN-AM: Champions Fall Short In Comeback Bid Verse Wingnuts

Ottawa, ON – A four-run fourth inning and a terrific pitching effort from Scott Richmond lead the Wichita Wingnuts to a 5-3 victory over the Ottawa Champions. Richmond notched his third win of the year as he gave up an earned run, a walk and eight hits in seven innings of work. Wichita RF David Espinosa led the offence going 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Wingnuts LF Joash Brodin chipped in with two hits while 3B TJ Mittelstaedt and C John Nester each drew two walks. For Ottawa in the loss, DH Bryce Massanari had a 2-for-3 day with a run batted in.
