Ottawa, ON – North American Soccer League action returned to the campus of Carleton University at Keith Harris Stadium as the Ottawa Fury FC (0-2) welcomed the Carolina RailHawks (2-0) in front of a crowd of 2,158 on a rainy Saturday in the nation’s capital.
Ottawa controlled much of the play in the first half and as Carolina became more visibly frustrated you could sense a Fury goal was coming. And in the 34th minute, Ottawa’s Oliver delivered scoring on a diving header off a corner kick.
The Fury carried the momentum of a strong first half and 1-0 lead into the second half where in the 56th minute Philippe Davies booted the ball passed the RailHawks goalie giving the Fury a 2-0 lead.
Ottawa’s Oliver would add two more goals in the second half, 63rd minute on an aerobatic jumping kick and 72nd minute on another header, giving him a hat-trick, first in his professional career and first in Ottawa Fury FC franchise history.
Oliver’s first career hat-trick, lead the Ottawa Fury FC to a 4-0 victory over the Carolina RailHawks, their first win in franchise history.
