Reenactors Battle Through Friday Night Storm On Lighthouse Point

Ogdensburg, NY –  The battle for North America resumed during Founder’s Day Weekend celebrations in Ogdensburg, New York this past weekend. The French and Indian War reenactment, and colonial trade fair with approximately 100 re-enactors from the US and Canada portraying 18th-century regiments of the French and English armies, their colonial militias and Native allies established their canvas camps on Lighthouse Point despite Friday nights high winds and heavy rain that spawned funnel clouds north of the border.

The battle re-enactment began with a naval battle on the St. Lawrence river at the mouth of the Oswegatchie river where 4 period authentic bateau armed with swivel canons battled for control of the river after the battle continued on land.
