Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival

Ottawa, ON – This year marks the 21st Annual Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival, held at Mooney’s Bay Park on Riverside Drive, its inaugural festival in 1994 was a small half-day event that is now a multi-day celebration of the arts, sports, culture and heritage. Celebrating its 21st anniversary the festival is North America’s largest dragon boating event with over 75,000 attendees, 5,000 athletes, that’s 200 teams in corporate, community and competitive categories and 630 volunteers to help run everything smoothly. The festival offered free admission to multiple stages with world class entertainment, The Sheepdogs, The Arkells, Hey Ocean!, Cuff the Duke, Northcote, Amos The Transparent, Wildlife and many more, amusement attractions, a variety of artisans, exhibitors, delicious culinary treats, beach side bar, endless family fun with the Tim Hortons Children’s Area and non-stop racing. To-date, the festival and it’s foundation (Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation) has raised $3 million through the annual Pledge Challenge, benefiting 29 Ottawa area charities.
