Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Fury FC (1-0) played their last game at Carleton University’s Keith Harris Stadium as they hosted the K-W United FC (1-0).
The Ottawa Fury FC’s Arin Gilliland opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when she put a shot far corner past K-W United FC keeper Alison Gondosch. In the 85th minute, Lydia Hastings added insurance, off a rebound from a Kristy Moore shot. Hastings goal could have proved crucial when in stoppage time K-W United FC was awarded a penalty kick, Cassie Wheldon took the shot, but her kick was denied by a diving Jill McVicker to preserve the shutout, with mere seconds to go in the game.
The Fury women hit the road for 6 games starting with a match verse the London Gryphons on 7 June. Their next home game is on 28 June verse the London Gryphons at their old home at the Algonquin College Soccer Complex.
