CAN-AM: Champions’ Canada Day Celebration Ruined By Rain

Ottawa, ON – The Canada Day game between the Ottawa Champions and the Quebec Capitales was suspended as the National Capital Region was belted by thunderstorms.

The game was abandoned by the umpiring crew in the top of the third inning, with the visiting Capitales leading 6-0.

Dan Tobik got the start for Ottawa, giving up six runs on seven hits over two and a third inning of work, while Quebec starter Sheldon McDonald pitched a two-inning shutout.

The game will resume from its current position on Tuesday, July 14th at 5:05 pm as part of a doubleheader.
