CFL: 2017 Ottawa RedBlacks Training Camp Mock Game

OTTAWA, ON – With a week of training camp in the books, the Ottawa RedBlacks put that work to use on Saturday afternoon as the club held an inter-squad mock game at TD Place.

Fans were invited to come watch the game as returning veterans and rookies alike got a break from drills and jumped into simulated games.

The game served an important purposes for both players and coaches at this point in camp and Head Coach Rick Campbell wanted to make it as realistic as possible.

“We make it so that everybody’s on the sideline, the coaches are calling plays…we want to make it as a game-like as possible,” Campbell said. “It’s kind of a dry run for our first pre-season game against Hamilton (on June 8 at TD Place).”

The RedBlacks will have a day off following before returning to the field on Monday to kick off Week 2 of camp.

Fans should know that all RedBlacks training camp practices are open to the public.
