CAN-AM: Champs Take Extra Innings To Down Miners

OTTAWA, ON – Ottawa 2B Albert Cartwright scored the game-winning run on a passed ball in the bottom of the 11th inning as the Champions defeated Sussex County in walk-off fashion, 6-5. The Miners carried a 5-3 lead into the bottom of the ninth only to see Ottawa tie the contest up with two-out RBI singles by 1B Kenny Bryant and DH Alexander Malleta. Bryant and Malleta had a combined five hits in the game along with two runs scored and two RBI. Champions LF Matt Helms added four hits while RF Michael Mastroberti chipped in with a pair of hits and plated a run. Ottawa pitcher Randy Hamrick tossed two innings of scoreless relief to notch his second victory of the season. Hamrick gave up a walk and two hits with a strikeout.
