Ottawa, ON – 5,093 fans came out on a very windy day as the Ottawa Fury FC (0-1-1) welcomed the Minnesota United FC (0-1-0) as Ottawa played it’s spring season home opener at TD Place. It also marked the home debut of Julian de Guzman, Canadian Men’s National team captain.
Tom Heinemann scored the games only goal in the 68th minute with a fantastic individual effort to give the Fury FC a 1-0 win over Minnesota United FC and the Fury’s first win of the 2015 NASL Spring season.
Next up for the Fury is FC Edmonton for the Amway Canadian Championship’s preliminary round which kicks off Wednesday at 7:30PM at TD Place. The Fury resume NASL action next Saturday at home verse the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at 3PM.
